My
Story
For years, I was trying to fight my skin.
When I developed cystic acne at 21, like so many others struggling with their skin, I became determined to fix it. I tried everything I could get my hands on: prescription medications, harsh acne products, face scrubbers that made my face raw, and every new trend that promised clearer skin. At one point, I was even microneedling my own face at home because I wanted results so badly. Looking back, I wasn't helping my skin, I was constantly fighting against it.
In 2020, I joined the United States Air Force, and my first duty station took me to South Korea. While living there, I discovered a completely different philosophy of skincare, one that would eventually change both my skin and the direction of my career (Oh, and I also met my husband there).
It wasn't just the products that caught my attention, it was the people. Everywhere I looked, I noticed healthy, radiant skin. Curious, I found myself wandering through skincare stores, researching ingredients, and learning why Korean skincare was so different from what I had always known. The more I learned, the more I realized the focus wasn't on stripping the skin or chasing quick fixes. It was about supporting the skin barrier, preventing damage, and creating healthy skin over time.
Slowly, I began replacing my routine with products that focused on hydration, barrier repair, and long-term skin health. My acne began to improve because my skin was finally healthy enough to heal.
My skin didn't transform overnight, and it certainly wasn't because of one miracle product or treatment. It was years of working with knowledgeable estheticians who listened, adjusted my treatment plan as my skin evolved, and celebrated every small improvement with me. They gave me something I hadn't felt in a long time, hope that my skin could continue getting better. They also gave me something just as valuable: knowledge. I always understood what we were doing, why we were doing it, and what came next.
After completing six years in the Air Force, earning my bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration along the way, and welcoming my daughter into the world, I found myself reflecting on what I truly wanted to do next.
I realized the common thread throughout every chapter of my life wasn't ultrasound (my previous career) or the military, it was helping people. Esthetics gave me the opportunity to combine my love of science, education, and skincare into something deeply meaningful.
Blush & Sage Atelier was created from that journey.
My goal isn't simply to perform a facial. It's to create the kind of experience I was fortunate enough to receive from the estheticians who helped transform my own skin. I want every client to walk through my doors feeling confident they've found the right place, a place where they'll feel heard, cared for, and never rushed. A place where results and relaxation go hand in hand.
Most importantly, I never want anyone to leave wondering what was done to their skin or what they're supposed to do next. Every treatment should come with education, a clear plan, and the confidence to understand your own skin long after you leave the treatment room.
Welcome to Blush & Sage Atelier. I'm so grateful you're here, and I can't wait to be part of your skincare journey.
